YOUTH TRIP TO BRANSON

Derek is ready for the chow!

Friday morning, July 21, 2000, the youth along with several adults met at the church between 5:30 A.M. & 6:00 A.M. We pulled out of the parking lot at 6:00 A.M. We travelled to Russelville, where we stopped at McDonalds to eat breakfast. We left there feeling full. Before we came to Booger Hollow, it started to rain. We stopped at Booger Hollow and rearranged some suitcases so they wouldn't get wet.

We were making very good time traveling. When we got to Harrison, Bro. Harold who was ahead of everyone, led us astray. Bro. DAvid & Sis. Becky caught this mistake. They got their map out. I'm glad that Bro. Harold reads his Bible more often than the map. We made it to our motel at 11:10 A.M. We checked in and unloaded everything!

What a Doll! It's Brittany!

Justin doesn't look tired!

We went to Silver Dollar City. It was Great! We rode the American Lunge, Buzz Saw Falls, and Fire in the Hole before we had to leave. Since we went in after 3:00 P.M., we could go back the next day. We went back to our rooms to get ready. Our plans were to see The Promise.

The Promise was excellent. I really can not describe it. It was the best I have seen about Jesus's life. The actors put their heart into it. It not only felt real, but looked real, from the costumes to the live animals. The man who played satan was awesome, but when they hung Jesus on the cross, it looked fantastic. It really looked like the nails were in His hands and satan was defeated. The show was worth every penny we paid to get in.

Eric and Justin like this water game!

We're so glad you could go, Eric!

We went back to Silver Dollar City Saturday morning. It was raining when we left. It was raining when we went inside and it was raining when we left again. Nevertheless, we had a great time. Everyone rode rides or looked around. Some of the rides were Thunderation, The Lost River, and we went to Splash Harbor. Everyone was soaked and cold. Back at the rooms we dried, and dried and dried our clothes!

We went to Ripley's Believe it or Not. We really enjoyed this. It had some very amazing things in it. It showed a statue of a man that stood 8 feet and 11 inches tall. His shoe size was 33 EEE. He only lived to be 22 years old. There was a man who smoked a pipe through his eyes lids. There were several models of houses and things made out of matchsticks. The most memorable was a battleship which was about 6 or 8 feet long and was made from match sticks. The amazing thing was that the man who created this was blind.

Do we claim to know these people?

Now that's sweet, girls - Sis. Sheila & Sis. Theresa

After Ripley's we went to eat pizza! There we found a banjo that was so large that Bro. David would have a hard time playing it. In fact he never found out how to play it!

I enjoyed everyone who went! It was sad to see it come to an end. I think the experience made us all a little closer!

People who went were:

Bro. Harold, Sis. Liz & Derek

Bro. Keith, Sis. Shelia, Nalani, and Justin

Bro. David, Sis. Becky & Joshua

Bro. Dub, Sis Theresa, Jacob & Brittany

Kavina, Sara, Brittany, Summer, and Eric.

Thanks to Sis. Becky Pennington for the story!

Sis. Becky must be going deep sea diving!
