God is a Faithful God

By Reverend Harold Mauldin

Hebrews 10: 23-25 "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;) and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

God is faithful. He will always be there for us. He told us, "I will never leave you nor forsake you. I will be with you." We may forsake Him. We may be unfaithful to Him but He will never be unfaithful to us. He loves us with an undying love. God always keeps His word. He will be faithful in all things.

When we receive salvation, the first thing we should understand is that we did not nor can we ever earn salvation. It is a gift freely given to us. It costs us nothing. However, it cost God everythng. It cost Him this life. It cost Him a sacrifice. It cost Him humiliation. He paid it all for us. HE was faithful to what he was called to do.

Since we received the greatest gift in the world, we likewise should be faithful to Him. We should be willing to give our all to Him. The Bible says in Romans 12: 1 that we should present our bodies a living sacrifice holy acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service. We are blessed to know Him, but we should be faithful to Him.

The Bible says in Hebrew 11 that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It was by faith that the Elders obtained a good report. We are children of faith. The Bible tells in Hebrews 11 how the Elders achieved what they achieved by faith. They knew that God was faithful. If we are going to accomplish anything in God, we first must understand that God is faithful. His word is truth. He never lies. He never has a bad day. God is God. God is faithful.

Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believer that He is (faithful), and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

You want to please God? All you have to do is believe in God. God is faithful. How did Abraham please God? Easy. He trusted Him. He had faith in the Faithful One. The Bible says that Abraham, when he was called, went out not knowing where he was going. He did that because his faith was in the One that called him. He knew that God would not let him down. He was known as the father of faith because he learned to look unto God and be faithful to Him above all. God is a jealous God. He wants us to put our faith in Him and be faithful to the place God has called us. Never give up on the dreams that God has put in your life. He that hath begun a work in you will continue it till the day of Jesus Christ. God is so faithful.

The Bible goes on to speak about the many people who did the will of God by simply trusting in God and being faithful. God took ordinary people and made them extraordinary because of their faith in God. Many wonderful things were accomplished because they did not waver when it came to the things of God.

In Hebrews 11: 39 - 40, it says that these all received a good report through faith but did not receive the promise. God provided a better way for us in order to perfect us. God is a faithful God.

Matthew 25: 31-46

The righteous people who had faith in God were put on God's right hand and were blessed. Why?

1) They fed the hungry (faithful)

2) Gave drink to thirsty (faithful)

3) Took stranger in (faithful)

4) Clothed the naked (faithful)

5) Visited sick (faithful)

6) Came to those in prison (faithful)

Whatever we do to the least, we do it unto the Lord. How do you treat people? Be careful, it is also an indication of how we treat the Lord.

How do you treat the Lord? Are you faithful to Him? Can He depend on you to be in His house? Is Calvary really worth our faithfulness? God paid the ultimate price. He gave His all for us. We ought to do the same. And as the writer of Hebrews says, so much more as you see the day approach. God is a faithful God.
