In the last couple of weeks, I have asked the
Lord to take me to a higher level. I even spoke to
Sis. Sheila about this and she told me, "Get
ready .... He's gonna do it!"

With the messages
that Bro. Burgett and Bro. Harold are bringing
forth along with both youth camps, I feel like
it's time.
|
| |
Like many others, I have prayed
many prayers but at times, I felt like Jesus didn't
hear them because I wanted my miracles and wanted
them right then. Well, let me tell you about my
miracle and answered prayer this week.
|
| |
As many of you know, my sister
has been waiting for a double lung transplant due
to her CF that she has had since birth. She is
now 31 years old. Bobbie was listed July 22,
2002, 3 weeks after the passing of Caitlyn.
|
| |
I remember seeing Bobbie at her
worst at my child's funeral and I thought "I
can't bear to lose her too... it's just too
much." My sister has had to live like this just
to survive, unable to do the things we take for
granted each and every day such as breathing.
|
| |
I talked to Bobbie earlier in
the week and she told me "I feel awful....
my lungs hurt so bad worse than ever
before." She said she was sending me
something in the mail. I thought, "What
could I do for her?" I can pray in faith! I
need to stand on my faith and know that I have
the power and authority to ask for anything in
Jesus' name!
|
| |
So, the other night, I started
praying, asking what she needed and believeing that
Jesus would give her that transplant. There is a time
and reason for every season and I consider this to be
a good season for me because the Lord proved to me 2
years ago that He has overcome death.
|
| |
On Friday morning, I awoke at
8:30 A.M., went outside, praying to Jesus as
Bobbie was on my mind and my spirit told me
"Today is a good day for transplant."
|
| |
Let
me tell you how big our God is!
|
| |
At 10:30 A.M., Bobbie called me and
said I just got the call! I knew from that moment
that God had given me that miracle I had been asking
for. I was blessing His name, thanking Jesus for
everything, I tell you I was high on Jesus! My spirit
was just filled with so much joy and peace I couldn't
contain it! I remember my mother was at my house at
that time and she said, "Don't get so excited -
it could be another false alarm." I immediately
rebuked her and said, "No, the Lord showed me,
This is the day! It will happen and it will be good
reports all around."
|
| |
I called for prayer chain
because all prayers are powerful, welcomed, and
needed. I thank you, my church family, although
you wouldn't know my sister if you saw her on the
street, you still offered her up in prayer and we
are grateful for that.
|
| |
I told you Bobbie was sending me
something in the mail, well it was a picture of Jesus
carrying the cross - she free hand drew it and then
painted it.
|
| |
Bobbie went into the Operating
Room at 4 P.M. and we were told it's a go and
that she would be in surgery till 4 A.M. The
doctor said the lungs looked really, really good
and were a perfect match - no cutting to make
them fit.
|
| |
She came out of the OR at 1 A.M.
and into ICU. She was a little unstable for a short
time but it was to be expected after major surgery -
they adjusted her meds and was fine.
|
| |
Mom called at 8:30 A.M.
Saturday morning and the nurse said they would
keep Bobbie heavily sedated Saturday and Sunday.
|
| |
I just had to call for myself at 10
A.M. and talked with her male nurse, whose name is
Noah. Noah told me that Bobbie was doing amazingly
well, that she was moving around, feeling a little
pain, squeezing his hand, and they were going to take
the breathing tube out at noon.
|
| |
I called again at 2 P.M., Noah
said, "the tube was out, lungs were working
great and she was breathing on her own. They
would give her an epidural for the pain and have
her sitting up in the chair by the evening. She
would be walking by midweek."
|
| |
I called back at 8 P.M. to check on
her and got to speak to her myself. We talked then
about how the Lord told me it would be and she said,
"Yes, I knew it, I prayed the whole
flight."
|
| |
I called again at 8 A.M. Sunday
morning and spoke with her. She had a good night,
they were gong to feed her breakfast and
hopefully take out 6 of the 12 tubes today. She
tells me she will be walking by this afternoon
and I believe this in Jesus name!
|
| |
My mom called me so excited about
how far and quick her progression has been thus far.
I told her "Think about it Mom, God has done all
of this. Give Him all the glory and honor. I still
believe that Jesus will bring my mom in, but it may
take her seeing my sister, "the walking
miracle." This is how big our God is!
|
| |
Today is a day when I could be
sad, knowing that 2 years ago today, we were
having my child's funeral right here in this
church, her casket laid at the altar. To me, God
has taken a sad day and made it a good day.
"For the Lord hath made this day." It
shows me again that Jesus has overcome death and
the grave! I give all the glory, honor, and
praise to Him - my Savior!
